Elliott
“Invitation To Healing”
We have all been hurt in life. Our minds and bodies
carry the marks of our painful experiences; but God is eager
to heal us! However, most emotional and physical healing
does not simply “happen” in answer to prayer; there is a process. We, as well as God, have a part to
play. What does God do and what does He want us to
do? From over 25 years’ experience as a counselor, Lynda
will teach us how to engage with God in the process.
Lynda is a social worker, author, and conference speaker from
Little Rock, Arkansas. She is author of The Counsel
Of a Friend and Invitation To Healing
(publication date May 2001). She has worked at the

Dorcas House, a home for battered women. An adjunct
faculty member of Trinity College and Seminary, Lynda has
provided classes for students internationally over the Internet. Offering counseling to individuals and families,
her specialties are recovery from childhood abuse, healing from
depression, and the process of life changes. |

Session #1: “Building Better
Boundaries”
Do you have trouble saying “no”? Do you take
better care of others than you do yourself? Do you ever
withhold the truth because you’re afraid of hurting someone’s
feelings? Do you find yourself being “over-responsible” for the lives of others and
cleaning up messes that you didn’t make? This session will
bring a clear understanding of God’s perspective of
appropriate boundaries; help you define and identify personal
boundaries that bring closeness, safety, and protection when
needed; and provide
specific tools for setting healthy boundariesallowing
you to effectively use your God given personal power.
Session #2: “Shame
OFF Me”
This session focuses on shame’s
devastating effect on identity, its impact on intimacy, how it
influences mate selection, and how it impairs parenting
skills. The “sins of the fathers and mothers” don’t have to be passed to the third and fourth
generations! Guidelines include stopping the cycle of
shame and restoring personal identity while enhancing intimacy.
Tom is the Pastor of Recovery at Capo
Beach Calvary Chapel, Capistrano Beach, Californiawith

 | Mary
Stocking
“Healing
the Wounded Heart”
As artist, Mary has over 10 years of
facilitating workshops for the creative heartand has learned how individual this work is between God and each
participant. She listens for the words
of instruction from the Holy Spirit that make a safe and blessed
place for the work to beginand
then yields to Him. It is a time of personal
discovery and prayer with one’s Father-Creator. Using clay
to express and symbolically shape what one’s heart releases
through grace is surprisingly direct and indelible.
Mary has healed through many of life’s difficulties. She
finds that the body, which has also taken the blows, is often
left behind in the healing process. Mary’s
breakout session participants will use clay to shape a blessing cup, which will be likened to the purpose and
value of one’s body. Mary says the healing often begins in
the process of creating. There
will also be time for sharing and prayer for healing during this
session. |

 | Laurie
Watter
“Healing
in
the Potter’s Hands”
Laurie surrendered her life to Christ in
1995 at the first Healing For Your Heart Conference and has
become an active member of the Discipleship Unlimited ministry
team. In addition to ministering in prisons, Laurie has
shared the power of Jesus Christ to heal wounded hearts in
churches, at conferences, and on city streets. She is a
graduate of the Urban Bible Training Center in Milwaukee and
works for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce
Development. In this breakout, you will hear how Laurie’s
journey in Christ has taken her through seasons of healing,
which included facing her past. As a
Christian, what do you do when your past invades the
present? How do you overcome the fear of facing the
pain? Where does God fit in, and how can He possibly bring
new life to areas that have been long devastated? Laurie has found that God is faithful to meet us in those
places, and she will share how His love and healing word can set
us free from our woundedness. Come and be encouraged as
Laurie shares the treasures of her process in the Potter’s hand. |
