Unlimited partners with HeartLove Place
In April 2002, Dallas and Linda
were asked to partner with
HeartLove Place, a central-city ministry in Milwaukee.
Discipleship Unlimited sees this request as a privilege and an opportunity
to support the ministry of HeartLove Place though prayer, neighborhood
outreach, conducting seminars, providing volunteers, and evangelism. Dallas
and Linda felt the confirmation of "like-mindedness" during their
December 2001
Christmas Celebration outreach held at HeartLove Place.
 What
is HeartLove Place?
HeartLove Place's mission is to assist Milwaukee's
central-city families by teaching, encouraging, and mentoring individuals to
accept personal responsibility, achieve quality work ethics, and develop
quality character through the influence and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The
vision of HeartLove Place is to assist children and help families
shape and improve the quality of their lives. Successful families are
essential components of a quality community; families will succeed when
parents raise their children by giving them love and guidance based on
God-given principles. Through partnering with Discipleship Unlimited,
HeartLove Place hopes to reach the community through an encounter with Jesus
Christ.
The HeartLove Place building is a beautiful new facility
with a wonderful kitchen, banquet hall, stage, and meeting rooms.
From Linda and Dallas:
This past year, God gave us the opportunity to
collaborate with the HeartLove staff in reaching out to families of
inmates as well as those living in the HeartLove neighborhood. Our
December 2001 outreach at HeartLove and our participation with them in
vacation Bible school in July 2002 has knit our hearts together.
As we’ve conducted in-prison marriage seminars over the
years, we’ve felt the need for a safe and loving place for ongoing ministry
and aftercare for men and women coming out of prison. The people at
HeartLove have the same desire.
We see God at work in our connection with HeartLove and are
very excited about joining Him in what He's doing there. Our next step is
the "Healing For Your Heart" conference at HeartLove
in October 2002.

July 18, 2002—HeartLove
Place Block Party

The HeartLove Place
block
party on Saturday, July 13, 2002, was a huge success. About
200 people attended the event. The Discipleship Unlimited team
ministered to a group of adults on Monday and Tuesday evening while the
children were in their Vacation Bible School class. Prayers were
answered as the adults opened their hearts and let the Lord minister to
their needs. It was a wonderful experience to watch.
(Above) Over 100 people gathered to
celebrate. Every family received a Christmas ham and a book.
